About TrueKitten
TrueKitten is a verified marketplace connecting buyers with ethical Maine Coon breeders. Every breeder in our catalog is verified, we authenticate health-test documents against their issuing registries, and every payment is held safely until you've met your kitten — so you can skip the scams and bring home a cat you can trust.
Why TrueKitten exists
Buying a Maine Coon online is a minefield. Classifieds sites do no screening, so that's where the scams live — a deposit wired to a “breeder” who vanishes, a kitten that never existed. Even legitimate directories are just scraped listings with no verification. And the best marketplaces are dogs-only, with self-reported health testing nobody checks.
TrueKitten is the answer to that gap: a marketplace where breeders and their health documents are actually verified, payments are protected end to end, and the whole thing is built specifically for cats. We niche hard on purpose — Maine Coon kittens, in the United States, done right.
What we actually verify
We authenticate every cattery's identity before its listings go public — so every breeder in our catalog is verified, and unverified sellers simply don't appear. We also authenticate the health-test documents a breeder submits against their issuing registries, matching each test to the cat by microchip.
A badge means we authenticated a document or an identity. It is never a guarantee of a kitten's health, and it is not insurance — the breeder's own health guarantee, in the sale contract, is what covers the animal itself.
How your payment is protected
When you pay, your money is held securely in escrow by our payments provider and released to the breeder only after you've met your kitten in person and confirmed the handoff with a one-time PIN. TrueKitten never holds your money in its own bank account — we orchestrate the release; the funds are held by Stripe.
Two separate protections back every purchase. The Safe-Handover Guarantee makes you whole through our resolution process, from the funds held for that transaction, if a deal turns out to be fraudulent. Separately, the Zero-Regret Guarantee refunds our 10% Payment Protection fee — our fee, never the kitten's price — if you're unhappy with our service in the first 30 days.

TrueKitten is operated by NorthPeak Software, Inc. (opens in a new tab), a Delaware corporation. We're a new platform, and we'd rather earn your trust with how the product works than with claims we can't back up.

A note from our founder
TrueKitten exists because buying a Maine Coon shouldn't mean handing a stranger thousands of dollars and hoping. Every breeder you see here is verified, health documents are authenticated against the registries that issued them, and your payment stays in escrow until you've met your kitten in person.
