Meet the breeder

We are Tony and Heather Shingler, the proud founders of Mainetasticoons Cattery. Our love for the breed began many years ago, and we knew that one day we would welcome a Maine Coon into our lives. Their striking beauty, intelligence, and gentle nature captured our hearts, and what started as a dream soon became a passion. Our cats are TICA and CFA registered. With over 20 years of experience in animal rescue, we understand the responsibility that comes with breeding. Having seen both the best and worst practices within the industry, we made a commitment: if we were to become breeders, we would do so with the highest standards of ethics, care, and integrity. Every decision we make is guided by what is best for the cats and the preservation of this remarkable breed. Tony is an Air Force veteran, and together, we are blessed with a large family of four children and ten grandchildren. Family is at the center of everything we do, and our cattery reflects those same values of love, respect, and dedication. Our mission is simple: to raise healthy, well-socialized Maine Coons that embody the beauty and temperament the breed is known for, while treating every kitten as part of our family until they join yours.

How you'll receive your kitten

You'll pick up your kitten in person from the breeder. At handover you confirm with a single-use PIN, so the kitten and your payment are both protected.

Your payment is protected

Safe-Handover Guarantee

Pay securely on TrueKitten and your money is held safely until you pick up your kitten. If a deal turns out to be fraudulent, you're made whole through our resolution process, from the funds held for that transaction.

Zero-Regret Guarantee

Separately, our 30-day satisfaction guarantee refunds our 10% Payment Protection fee, no questions asked, if you're unhappy with TrueKitten's service. That refunds our fee — never the kitten price. For comparison, the Better Business Bureau's 2025 pet-scam study reports a median loss of $680 to online pet scams.

How to claim: from your purchase page, within 30 days of pickup, request the refund — it goes back to your original payment method.
